Dry skin

Noticing your skin feels tight, itchy or more sensitive? You’re not alone. It’s a very common menopause symptom. As hormones change, your skin changes too. The result: it becomes thinner, drier, and sometimes uncomfortable.

Why does skin get drier?

• Estrogen boosts collagen and hyaluronic acid—two natural “hydrators” that keep skin supple and well-moisturized.
• It also helps your skin retain water.
During menopause, estrogen levels drop. Your skin barrier weakens, water escapes faster, and skin becomes drier and more reactive. Night sweats and hot flashes can further worsen dehydration.

What you might feel:

• Tightness or itchiness
• Discomfort, especially after showering
• Rough patches (face, legs, arms…)
• Less glow, dull complexion
• More frequent reactions to certain products

Helpful tips to relieve:

• Drink enough water
• Use a rich moisturizer morning and evening
• Avoid very hot showers
• Choose gentle, fragrance-free, alcohol-free care
• Protect skin from wind and cold
• Get enough sleep—skin repairs itself at night

Recognize yourself? You’re not alone. The good news: with a few simple habits, your skin can feel comfortable again.
