Joint pain

A discreet symptom… but very common. People often talk about hot flashes or mood swings. But joint pain often shows up unannounced.
More than 1 in 2 women suffer from it! And yet, the link with menopause is still rarely made.

Why more now than before?

When estrogen levels drop, inflammation increases.
Joints become stiffer and less well lubricated.

Result: pain in knees, hips, wrists, fingers…

What you may feel:

  • Morning stiffness
  • Discomfort when walking, moving, climbing stairs
  • Pain in small joints (hands, wrists)
  • Feeling “rusty” in the morning

Ignoring it is not the best strategy!

For some, the pain goes away quickly.
For others, it lingers.
Do not ignore it: it can progress to osteoarthritis.

Useful tips for relief:

  • Move gently every day (walking, yoga, swimming)
  • Eat an anti-inflammatory diet (fatty fish, green vegetables, red fruit)
  • Supplement (omega-3, collagen, vitamin D, turmeric)
  • Avoid ultra-processed foods and refined sugar
  • If the pain persists, seek advice from a healthcare professional

And what about hormone therapy?

Some women find real joint pain relief with personalized hormonal treatments (bio-identical estrogens).
But it is never a "copy-paste" solution.
Discuss it with a specialist.

Do you recognize yourself?
You are not alone.

Menopause sometimes brings unexpected turns.
But even the creakiest joints can regain flexibility… with the right guidance.
